Becoming Resilient Enough To Be Vulnerable

This photo is from my illustration from the book I  am writing about the  mutually derived experiences  formed as  patients have permitted  me to come  close to the  concealed  portions of their  unearthed self.

Now with almost 3 decades  behind me and still with me, I am attempting to delineate the particular components that would  encourage and inspire new clinicians.  This is an extraordinary experience for me.  I have consulted and supervised over the years. But now I am clearer about  what I in particular have to offer.

So what do I believe makes a good clinician?
To start with, being genuine is essential.  Here is the paradox, for  to be genuine in this complex  work  you have to be resilient and you cannot be resilient unless  you have access to your own vulnerability.
